Our partner company Caribbean Heart Care Medcorp Limited co-Founder and Managing Director Dr. Kamal Rampersad was bestowed the honour of  Public Service Medal of Merit (Gold) for outstanding and meritorious service to Trinidad and Tobago in the sphere of medicine.

Dr Kamal Rampersad was an integral member of the team that conducted the heart surgery on Dr Gregory Bissessar on June 22, husband to our Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

In his own words: "I am profoundly honoured and humble. I accept this award on behalf of myself and my surgical team," Rampersad said. Rampersad said the receipt of the national award has given him an impetus to carry on with his work.

"This has given me more vigour to pursue what we are doing and it has inspired me to know that we are on the right track," Rampersad continued.

OSHA

Medcorp Limited is currently reviewing our organization structure, building and maintenance procedures with a view to adhere to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA). This is done with the patient as the most important aspect of our review.

We have implemented and Emergency Evacuation Plan which will be strictly adhered to and practiced on a regular basis. This is our commitment to you the patient.

Medcorp Limited is currently pursuing this international certification (JCI) which is one of the leading in the Healthcare field. It reviews your hospital’s procedures clinical, medical and administrative; to make sure they adhere to world standards in patient care. As far as we know, we are the only institution in Trinidad even seeking this accreditation in the health care industry.
