Availability of Cots per patient

Patients are allocated one cot per bed provided the patient is critical and approval is received from the Nurse in Charge. However, in the Maternity Ward approval is not required from the Nurse in Charge.

On the morning of discharge

When it is time for you to go home, your doctor will write a discharge order for you to leave. Discharge arrangements should be made as soon as you are notified of discharge.

  1. Check with your nurse to ensure that everything is in order prior to leaving the room.
  2. Make sure you have all your personal belongings. The hospital assumes no responsibility for items left behind.
  3. Check with the business office to arrange to have your account settled prior to leaving. For your convenience, St. Clair Medical Centre accept major credit cards, bank drafts and foreign currency. Return the television and air conditioning unit remotes to the Front Office. Failure to do this will result in paying a fine of $100 per remote control.
  4. Persons meeting you should arrive at the main entrance on Elizabeth Street.
